The police chief of Limberth Choque said that at least 4 students were killed in a stampede that occurred during a meeting in Potosi, Bolivia.

"El Deber" newspaper reported that more than 70 were injured in the accident.

The newspaper explained the stampede occurred after unknown people threw a tear gas grenade in the hall of the Tomás Frías Autonomous University, where the meeting was taking place at that moment.

On his part, Pedro Lopez, President of the University of Tomás Frías, said that the students gathered to elect new leaders for the student body at the university located in the mountainous city of Potosi, about 420 kilometers south of the capital, La Paz.
