Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Founder and Chairperson of Kalimat Foundation (KF), chaired the Foundation's year-end Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, setting the strategic roadmap for 2026 focused on scaling accessible publishing, inclusive content development, and international partnerships.
The Board reviewed 2025 achievements, which underscored KF’s deepening commitment to inclusive literacy and children's right to knowledge worldwide. A major highlight was the expansion of the "Pledge a Library" initiative, which saw the donation of 4,600 Arabic-language books across 46 portable libraries in 42 locations spanning eight countries, including Brazil, Greece, and Uganda.
KF also reinforced its "Ara" (I See) initiative, advancing inclusive publishing through accessible book formats like Braille and audiobooks, and specialized training for children with visual impairments.
Sheikha Bodour emphasized that accessible publishing is a "sustainable model of empowerment" that opens doors to self-discovery and informed choices for children. The 2026 strategy prioritizes innovation in cultural philanthropy, community reading programmes, and strengthening KF’s international role in shaping an equitable reading ecosystem.
