CAIRO, Mar .30. (SEE)- BMW’s four door electric i4 sedan appeared at the car winter testing in Sweden. The company reported that it’s good for 600 km of range ''372 miles'' on the European test cycle. Also the electric motors will help get the i4 to 60 mph in an appropriate 4 seconds.
Meanwhile, the i4 version is a much more futuristic product that will be built on BMW’s next modular chassis and will feature BMW’s fifth-gen electric system.
This will be the performance sedan of BMW’s EV lineup with production slated to begin in 2021. It’s going to compete against other mid-size and look like a relatively normal sedan if these shots are indicative of the final design. The i4 is shaping up to have extremely conventional looks for an electric car.
The headlights have been slightly reworked, with larger housings located underneath the dramatic LED accents the rest of the body remains familiar to the concept with a dramatically angled roofline, a unique, four door setup only the wheels look more in line with the rest of the BMW range.
The sharp edges seen at the B-pillars also look quite good, enhancing the skid skirts and falling back into the trunk.
Interior, the dash will be broad and come covered in soft-touch materials, while the center console will get a mix of brushed aluminum trim and piano black lacquer surrounds and digital gauges, a heads-up display, advanced navigation, smartphone support in addition the wireless charging.
It is expected i4 electric sedan will likely be one of the most anticipated new electric cars from the German make.
