US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has urged the Congress to swiftly approve the request made by the American administration for additional assistance to Ukraine.

This plea comes as the Biden administration aims to secure $24.1 billion from Congress to continue aiding Ukraine across military, economic, and humanitarian fronts.

During a press conference, Secretary Blinken emphasized that President Joe Biden requested $24.1 billion from Congress to maintain support for Ukraine in military, economic, and humanitarian spheres.

He further highlighted that the United States, alongside numerous other nations, will persist in supporting Ukraine until a "fair and lasting peace" is achieved.

As Ukraine grapples with the aftermath of the Russian military intervention that began on February 24th, 2022, the nation has received substantial financial and military assistance from Western countries, with the United States and several European nations leading the efforts.

The Western countries are leveraging their financial, military, and political support to Kiev in a concerted effort to thwart the Russian military operation in Ukraine.

However, Moscow has repeatedly affirmed that military operations in Donbas will not cease until all assigned objectives are met.
