U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a phone call with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, to discuss the situation in Syria and efforts to de-escalate tensions in Gaza.
According to a statement by the U.S. Department of State on Tuesday, the two officials also discussed ongoing efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, ensuring the release of hostages and the intensification of humanitarian aid.
Blinken emphasized the importance of supporting legitimate security institutions in Lebanon, such as the Lebanese Armed Forces and Internal Security Forces.
