U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed his country’s aspiration to continue its partnership with Cambodia in the Indo-Pacific region and to deepen bilateral relations on various levels.

This came in a statement by Blinken congratulating the people of Cambodia on the occasion of the 71st Independence Day, celebrated by the Southeast Asian kingdom today, Saturday.

"The United States looks forward to continuing our partnership with the Royal Government of Cambodia to advance our shared vision of a free, open, prosperous, and secure Indo-Pacific region," Blinken said.

The U.S. Secretary of State noted that the two countries will soon celebrate the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, calling this a "testament to the strong ties between our governments and peoples."

He added, "In commemorating this significant milestone, we look forward to deepening our relations through Cambodia’s role as coordinator between the United States and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), as well as economic initiatives, global health and educational exchanges, law enforcement cooperation, and efforts to preserve Cambodia's cultural heritage."

Blinken appreciated Cambodia’s ongoing cooperation with the United States on key regional and global issues.
