Blinken Congratulates Morocco after Historic Win over Portugal

The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, congratulated the Moroccan national team for making history and qualifying for the semi finals of the world cup, currently being held in Qatar.

"Africa making history and leading on and off the field," Blinken tweeted.

"On the eve of the #USAfricaLeadersSummit22, I congratulate @EnMaroc, the #AtlasLions   , on their win today and becoming the first African and Arab team to ever reach the semi-finals of the @FIFAWorldCup," US Secretary of State added.

It is worth mentioning, The Atlas Lions made history as the first African team to beat Portugal 1-0 and reach the word cup semis.

Youssef En-Nesyri scored the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute heading the ball past Portuguese goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
