US Secretary Blinken spoke to Egyptian Foreign Minister Shoukry today and thanked him for his sustained leadership and close friendship over many years in strengthening a robust U.S.-Egypt partnership to address regional and global challenges and foster resilient ties between the American and Egyptian people, according to a statement published by US State Department.
US State Department added that Minister Shoukry was a leader on multilateral efforts to deescalate conflict and press for sustainable solutions.
