U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has pressed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to work towards a ceasefire, release hostages, and allow more humanitarian aid into Gaza.
During a meeting earlier today in Jerusalem, Blinken emphasized to Netanyahu that the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar presents an opportunity to secure the release of all hostages and end the conflict in Gaza in a manner that ensures lasting security for both Israelis and Palestinians, said State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.
