U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has arrived in Israel. This marks his 11th visit to the region since October 7th, following his last trip a month ago.
The U.S. State Department's announcement did not specify other countries that Blinken may visit during this trip.
Blinken's visit comes as Israel prepares to launch an attack on Iran in response to a barrage of Iranian ballistic missiles fired earlier this month.
American and Israeli officials have been discussing the response over the past few weeks. Israeli officials have informed Washington that they will refrain from targeting Iran’s nuclear or energy sites to avoid escalating tensions further.
