In early September, it was announced that the American band Black Eyed Peas was set to perform their first-ever concert in Egypt.

The musical group was founded in 1995 and consists of rappers will.i.am, Taboo, and apl.de.ap. Filipino singer-songwriter J. Rey Soul joined the band in 2018.

They presented last Saturday their first concert at the Great Pyramids of Giza. The concert’s venue was filled with concertgoers elevated above the ground with multiple small platforms.

However, the show suffered a mishap during the band's Scream and Shout performance, as one of these platforms of the regular standing area crashed, forcing dozens of people underneath its rubble.

The disaster was watch watched by millions on LIVENow, which paused the concert for about 30 minutes.

Luckily, no one sustained major injuries and those who were most affected had bruising. The organizers moved some of those involved in the accident to the VIP section as compensation, then the concert resumed with no further setbacks.

Most people reported an exciting and fun experience at the concert aside from the accident.

In a statement, the CEO of LIVENow spoke about the Livestream, saying: "I am so excited to make history with this concert, live from the Pyramids in Egypt. This was a never-before-accomplished performance by any band or artist, and I am so happy to be a part of the first one ever. This was truly an event to remember."

Black Eyed Peas took to Twitter on Monday to send a message to Egypt after the concert, tweeting: "It’s always been a dream of ours to visit Egypt, but playing in front of the Pyramids, that’s something we’ll never forget. Thank you, Cairo! #beptakeegypt #venturelifestyle #ticketegypt."

Fans took to comments to shower the band with love.

"Been listening to u guys since the beginning, never thought you would actually come to my country and play there. hope you enjoyed your stay", a fan wrote.
