Abiy Ahmed announced, via "X" platform, that he received U.S. billionaire, founder of "Microsoft" Bill Gates to assess the progress of agricultural and health projects in the country and review wheat productivity and poultry farming.
The visit of the U.S. billionaire Bill Gates to Ethiopia, especially after the spread of pictures with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in the wheat fields, sparked widespread controversy among social media users, who confirmed that the announced reason for Bill Gates' visit to Ethiopia is not the real purpose of the visit, especially since it came at a time when the crisis in Ethiopia is escalating against Abiy Ahmed.
He stated that the visit highlights the ongoing cooperation with the "Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation" in the fields of agriculture, health and financial inclusion.
He stressed Ethiopia's commitment to achieving food sovereignty. He continued: "By investing in sustainable agriculture, modern technology and capacity building, Ethiopia can enhance productivity, diversify crops and improve access to food."
This comes as Addis Ababa decided to close the gates of the Renaissance Dam, which means stopping the flow of water shares to Egypt and Sudan and continuing the fifth storage that is currently taking place without coordination with Cairo and Khartoum.
It seems that the water shares of the downstream countries is kept in Ethiopia for billionaires' controversial projects.
