Biden's Upcoming Administration to Unfold Shortly

U.S. President-elect Joe Biden, who works from his native Delaware, has pushed ahead with his transition plans despite the current administration's lack of cooperation.

Ron Klein, chosen by Biden as the next White House chief of staff, said the president-elect will unveil the first members of his administration on Tuesday.

Mean while, a source close to Biden's transition team said yesterday that the president-elect will choose Anthony Blinken as Secretary of State as he prepares to abandon Trump's "America First" foreign policy.

Biden chose another aide, Jack Sullivan, as the US National Security Adviser. Sullivan is Biden's longtime aide with foreign policy experience. Reports indicated that former Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen is the first candidate for this position.

Mean while, the desperate efforts of President Donald Trump to reverse his election loss to Biden are expected to suffer a knockout within hours as Biden continues the task of forming his administration. Michigan is preparing to certify its results within hours, and Pennsylvania will likely take the same step.

Republican Trump lost those two crucial states during the elections on November 3, but refuses to concede defeat and has embarked on a court battle to annul the results there and in other states across the country.

If Michigan and Pennsylvania were to approve their results, Biden would be confirmed winning the 36 electoral college votes in those two states. Biden received a total of 306 votes, 36 more than the 270 needed to win the presidency.

Trump's attempt to delay ratification of results in several states has failed, most recently on Saturday when a federal judge in Pennsylvania rejected a Trump campaign lawsuit saying the court had no authority to violate the constitution.

Representatives of all states will meet, within the framework of the so-called Electoral College, to formally announce the next president on December 14th.
