President Joe Biden delivered on Thursday a speech pledging to strike back on those who carried out the Kabul airport attack that left 13 U.S. service members dead.
Biden also pledged that the evacuation process in Afghanistan will continue.
"Know this. We will not forgive. We will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay," Biden said.
"The lives we lost today were lives given in the service of liberty, the service of security, the service of others, in the service of America," he added.
"We will respond with force and precision, at our time, at the place we choose and at the moment of our choosing."
The U.S. president pointed out the situation in Kabul is still evolving, pledging to target the assets and facilities of the Islamic State affiliate "ISIS-K", which has claimed responsibility for the attack.
"We will not be deterred by terrorists. We will not let them stop our mission."
Biden also said he would send additional U.S. troops to Afghanistan to help when the evacuation is necessary.
Meantime, several politicians, especially republicans are calling for resignation following the terror attack.
