President Joe Biden said on Friday that he predicted a final-hour shift for the Democrats in the midterm elections, asserting that the current economic situation is the party's weakest issue.

Biden told reporters at the White House: "It's been back and forth, with them ahead, us ahead, them ahead, back and forth."

"Polls have been all over the place. I think we're going to see one more shift back to our side in the closing days," Biden added.

Recent polls showed more increase in voters for the Republican side, although voters are still anxious about high inflation.

Biden's party currently has the majority in Congress but Republicans revealed that they will block any legislation if they take over the Congress.

The US President said the voters were starting to see "some good news in the economy" so they would support Democrats in time for voting day.

He mentioned gradually falling gasoline prices, low unemployment rates, and the news of "the largest-ever decline in the federal deficit," describing that the deficit reduction is "further proof that we're rebuilding the economy in a responsible way."

The US President also revealed that the Republicans will eliminate the minimum tax rate for corporations and "double down" on tax cuts for the most wealthy.
