US President Joe Biden considered that Ukraine's accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) before the end of the conflict threatens a direct clash with Russia.

Biden explained in an interview with CNN, saying that "accepting Ukraine to NATO before the end of the conflict threatens a direct clash with Russia."

He added, "I do not think that there is a consensus in NATO about accepting or not accepting Ukraine into the alliance now, especially at this moment, amid the crisis."

And Biden added, "For example, if this is done and happens now, we are fully committed to protecting every inch of NATO territory, and I am serious about this matter. This is a commitment we all made, especially if there was a direct clash."

The Coordinator of Strategic Communications for the National Security Council at the White House, John Kirby, had said that Ukraine does not meet the requirements of "NATO," indicating that there are certain conditions "and every NATO member must fulfill them."

On Friday, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan announced that Ukraine "will not join NATO" after the Vilnius summit scheduled for next week.
