US President Joe Biden will host Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the White House on March 1.
In a statement,White house said that both leaders will discuss several issues, including preventing regional escalation in the Middle East.
"The meeting will "reaffirm the strong relationship between US and Italy," the statement added, noting that both leaders will discuss shared approaches to address global challenges, including their commitment to continue supporting Ukraine in confronting Russia.
The statement also indicated that among the other files that will be discussed are preventing regional escalation in the Middle East, providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza, developments in North Africa, and close transatlantic coordination on the People's Republic of China.
They will also discuss Italy's presidency of the G7 and coordination ahead of the NATO summit in Washington.
