Biden: Putin Makes Real Threat by Brandishing of Using Tactical Nuclear Weapons

US President Joe Biden said that the threat of his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to use tactical nuclear weapons is "real", days after he denounced Russia's deployment of such weapons in Belarus.

Biden called Putin's announcement that Russia had deployed its first tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus "totally irresponsible".

" He added, "And they looked at me the same way when I said I was concerned about Putin's use of tactical nuclear weapons. This is true," according to Reuters.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said last week that his country had begun receiving Russian tactical nuclear weapons, some of which he said were three times more powerful than the atomic bombs dropped by the United States on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
