President-elect Joe Biden chose, Thursday, Susan Rice, Barack Obama’s former national security adviser, to run the White House Domestic Policy Council, according to politico.

Rice has served as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, and was also vetted to serve as Biden’s vice president.

She was a contender to be secretary of State, a position that went to Antony Blinken.

As director of the Domestic Policy Council is not a Senate-confirmed position, Biden’s team had been looking to find a high-profile role for Rice. However,  top domestic policy job came as a surprise due to her expertise and experience in foreign policy.

A spokesperson for the Biden transition declined to comment.

On the other hand, the Public Security Agency is going to deploy a team to “thoroughly clean and disinfect” all surfaces in the east and west wings of the White House, making it ready to receive the new US president and his administration.

It is stated that the house will undergo “disinfectant misting services” to clean the air after the Trump team’s departure.

It is noteworthy that more than 40 people from Trump's circle have been infected with Coronavirus, which raises questions about the risks that will be lurking when the new team moves to the White House.

As recently as Wednesday, Trump appeared bare-faced during a Hanukkah party with hundreds of guests at the White House.
