The Democratic US presidential candidate, Joe Biden, stressed on Wednesday that only the American people will decide the outcome of the presidential elections, not President Donald Trump.

"Donald Trump does not decide the outcome of this election and nor do I. The American people decide. That’s why we’ve launched the Biden Fight Fund — to ensure every vote is counted," Biden tweeted.

While Americans await the results of the US elections’ count to know their next president, Republican Trump, and Democrat Biden continue their race to win the states in succession and accumulate votes in the electorate.

To date, Wednesday, no official results have been issued, but rather preliminary results reported by research centers and local media.

In this context, some polls have reported that Biden won 264 votes in the electoral college, compared to 214 for Trump.

Without declaring victory, Biden said he believed his Democratic campaign would prevail.

On his part, Trump, a Republican, claimed to have won. His campaign has filed lawsuits in two states where Biden leads.

It is worth mentioning that each candidate needs to win 270 votes from the electoral college.
