Biden, Macron Discuss Support for Ukraine

On Tuesday, US President Jos Biden spoke with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron by phone, according to a statement the White House released following the talks.

They discussed assistance to Ukraine and "imposing costs" on Russia for the special military operation.

The statement pointed out that the leaders discussed their support for Ukraine, including their commitment to continue providing Kyiv with security assistance and imposing costs on Russia" for the special military operation.

The presidents also discussed cooperation between the countries in the Indo-Pacific region and "shared efforts to address challenges posed by the People’s Republic of China to the rules-based international order."

The statement noted that both Biden and Macron eaffirmed their commitment to coordinate closely on accelerating the transition to clean energy economies.
