US President Joe Biden, who will turn 80 in November, announced Friday that he "intends" to run for another presidential term in 2024, but he made it clear that he has not made a formal decision to do so yet.
“The reason I’m not making a judgment about formally running or not running, once I make that judgment, a whole series of regulations kick in and I have to be – I treat myself as a candidate from that moment on. I have not made that formal decision, but it’s my intention – my intention to run again. And we have time to make that decision,” Biden told MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart in an interview at Delaware State University in Dover.
When asked if his wife, Jill Biden, supports him to run for president again, he indicated that she supports the idea, adding: "My wife believes that we are doing something very important and that I should not give up."
Noteworthy, Biden, the oldest American president, celebrates his 80th birthday on November 20.
