Biden in Rome for G20 Summit

US President Joe Biden arrived early Friday in the Italian capital, Rome, to participate in the G20 summit, before heading to Glasgow to attend the United Nations climate summit "COP26".

 

Biden, the second Catholic president of the United States after John F Kennedy, kicks off his European trip Friday with a meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican. On Friday, he will also meet with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Earlier ,Biden announced his participation in the COP26 climate summit in Scotland.

In a tweet, the US ambassador to the UK, Philip Reeker, said: “It’s official – President Biden will travel to Scotland for #COP26. The gathering in Glasgow will be a pivotal moment on the road towards a more secure, prosperous, and sustainable future for our planet.
