US President Joe Biden has expressed doubts about the cease-fire ordered by his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Ukraine for 36 hours this week to allow Orthodox Christians to attend Christmas services.
Biden said - in press statements reported by the American news channel "CNN" Thursday - that he is "hesitant about responding to anything Putin says.
Biden described his Russian counterpart as "trying to breathe a sigh of relief."
President Putin had recently ordered his defense minister to order a 36-hour cease-fire in Ukraine starting at noon on January 6.
