US President Joe Biden declared that a major disaster exists in the State of Washington following a severe storm, flooding and mudslides.
The White House said in a statement that Biden has ordered federal assistance to supplement state, tribal, and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by the storm, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides, and mudslides from November 3 to November 8, 2022.
According to the statement, Federal funding is available to state, tribal, and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe winter storm, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides, and mudslides in the counties of Clallam, Island, Jefferson, Lewis, Okanogan, Skagit, Skamania, Snohomish, and Wahkiakum.
Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.
