On Monday, U.S. President Joe Biden congratulated Muslims all over the world on Islamic (Hijri)New Year 1443.

"Jill and I extend our warm wishes to all those observing the Islamic New Year and remembering the historical sacrifices during the holy month of Muharram," Biden wrote on Twitter.

"We join you in honoring the universal values of justice, equality, and compassion," the president added.

On this day, Muslims celebrate 1443 years since Islam’s Prophet Muhammad migrated from Mecca to Medina, to save Muslims from torture by leaders of Quraish.

In addition, Prophet Muhammad wanted to protect the proselytism of Islam from being eradicated by disbelievers at that time.

Biden has previously congratulated Muslims on Eid al-Adha, affirming that Eid has a special meaning in light of the continuing Coronavirus pandemic.
