US President Joe Biden congratulated the Japanese organization "Nihon Hidankyo," which represents survivors of the 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, for winning this year's Nobel Peace Prize.
According to Japan's public broadcaster NHK, Biden said, "For decades, the members of this organization have stood as a human testament to the catastrophic human toll of nuclear weapons, telling a story humanity needs to hear."
Biden added, "On behalf of the United States, I congratulate them on receiving the Nobel Peace Prize for their historic work to ensure nuclear weapons are never used again."
