US President Joe Biden said that reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza by the beginning of Ramadan “seems difficult.”

Biden added in statements to reporters that he is concerned about the violence in East Jerusalem without a ceasefire.

In this context, the newspaper "Israel Hayom" said that Israeli officials are discussing arming some civilians in the Gaza Strip to provide security protection for aid convoys heading to the Strip.

The newspaper said that the civilians would not be linked to armed groups, including Hamas, but their identity was not yet clear.

The month of Ramadan this year is unusually sad due to the current circumstances among the Palestinians, the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, and the restrictions imposed on the West Bank, as its people await the month of Ramadan every year to visit Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque

Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir tried to impose conditions on the entry of worshipers from the territories of the year 1948, but the War Council ignored his request for fear of the situation erupting on the ground, specifically in Jerusalem
