Biden Calls Netanyahu, Pledges Commitment to Israel's Security

The White House announced that US President Joe Biden has informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he intends to enhance defense cooperation with Israel.

In a statement, the White House said that Biden had assured Netanyahu of his personal history of unwavering commitment to Israel's security.

The statement added, "Biden also confirmed US support for the recent normalization of relations between Israel and the countries of the Arab and Islamic world."

Netanyahu's office had confirmed that the latter had held a phone call with Biden, during which they stressed strengthening the alliance between the two countries.

"The call was very friendly and warm and lasted for more than an hour," the office added.

"During the call, the two leaders referred to the personal relationship that binds them, which has been going on for many years, and that they will work together to strengthen the strong alliance that exists between Israel and the United States."
