US President Joe Biden made a new gaffe on Thursday during a NATO summit in Washington by introducing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as “President Putin,” before correcting his mistake, in a new setback for the Democratic candidate who is under increasing pressure to withdraw from the presidential race.
Addressing those attending the summit, Biden, 81, said, “Now, I leave the speech to the President of Ukraine, who has a great deal of courage and determination. Ladies and gentlemen, here is President Putin.” But Biden quickly corrected his lapse, saying, “My focus is firmly on defeating President Putin.”
Biden accidentally calls Zelensky “President Putin”
A few seconds later corrects himself. “He’s going to beat President a Putin..I’m so focused on beating Putin, we have to worry about it.”
