In a step intended to enhance the effectiveness of the Upper Egypt development program, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina has decided to hold the “Upper Egypt is Changing” conference on Monday, 4 April 2021.

According to an official statement by Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Mostafa el-Feki, the maven politician explained that this conference presents a sincere national vision for building the future, and the role of Egypt’s President Abdel Fatah ElSisi in the country’s developmental renaissance and civilizational shift towards modernizing all aspects of life. “We believe that Upper Egypt is the cradle of civilization and also remained as a historical distinction even after the Pharos' period," he said.

Meanwhile, the conference will be held in coordination with Bibliotheca Alexandrina and General Mahmoud Shaarawi, Minister of Local Development, and Dr. Nevin Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, with the participation of public figures, members of Parliament, intellectuals, academics and media.

In the same context, Feki pointed out that the upcoming conference deals with development projects adopted by the state to change the quality of life in Egyptian society, in addition to other civil development initiatives.

On this basis, the Alexandria library participates in the national scene that indicates that a modern Egyptian state is being built in all fields, which makes us all feel that Upper Egypt is actually changing, according to Feki.

It’s worth noting that the theme of the upcoming conference (Upper Egypt is Changing) aims to remove barriers and create an inclusive and accessible society for All Egyptians.
