Benzema Named Mahou Five Star Player of September

karim Benzema has been voted the Mahou Five Star Player for September, a month in which he scored seven goals in six games.

The Frenchman picked up the award in recognition of his impressive performances over the past month, in which he scored a hat-trick in the match at home to Celta, a brace against Mallorca and goals against Valencia and Sheriff in the Champions League.

With 10 goals in as many official games this season, Real Madrid's top scorer said: "I'm really happy. I'd like to thank all the fans. It's important for me that I give my all in every game and I've had to work very hard to reach this level. I hope to keep up this form".

"We've got some important games coming up. First up in the Champions League and it's a key game. It won't be easy and we're away from home, but we're going there to get the win".

"I'm reallly happy to be on the list of 30 candidates for the Ballon d'Or because I've always dreamed of winning this trophy. It's a long-term effort, where I've always had my teammates and my club's support".
