Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir's distribution of sweets inside the Knesset, following the initial approval of the bill to execute Palestinian prisoners, sparked sharp tension and nearly escalated into a physical altercation between members.

Last night's Knesset session witnessed a heated confrontation between Ben-Gvir and Arab Knesset member Ayman Odeh, after Odeh sharply criticized the bill, saying: "You will be expelled, and the Palestinians will remain."

Odeh added, "You wanted to expel us, and you failed. That's why you're in an ideological crisis, and why you're going crazy like this. You bunch of weaklings, you will flee, and the Palestinian people will remain. The cursed occupation will end, and the State of Palestine will be established in your face."

MK Tali Gottlieb (Likud) immediately retorted: "He can't say that!" Moments of chaos ensued, with members approaching each other and the session devolving into a verbal and almost physical altercation before security intervened to separate the two sides.

In a symbolic and controversial moment, Ben-Gvir exploited the tense situation by presenting a box of sweets he had brought beforehand and began distributing them to the MPs who had voted in favor of the bill—a move described by observers as a "deliberate political humiliation" that demonstrated a complete disregard for the human dimension of the crisis.
