Belgium's Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms expected to affect Liège Province on Monday.
The warning is in effect from noon to 9 p.m. local time. In response, the non-emergency fire department hotline, 1722, has been activated.
The Federal Public Service Interior (SPF) reported that severe thunderstorms are anticipated in the eastern part of the country.
Rainfall accumulations could exceed 20 liters per square meter over six hours in Liège, with possible hail and additional storms impacting the region.
Due to the alert, the 1722 hotline has been set up to assist with non-urgent storm and water damage. For life-threatening situations such as collapses, road hazards, fire risks, or injuries, residents are advised to call 112.
