Belgium's Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib urged today to broaden the sanctions imposed on Israeli settlers involved in violence within the West Bank.

Lahbib emphasized, in a statement released before a meeting of European Union ministers in Luxembourg, the necessity of targeting not only settlers who perpetrate violence in the West Bank but also those who support them, including weapons.

She stressed the importance of maintaining a balanced approach to avoid accusations of double standards.

Regarding the impending sanctions on Tehran following its recent attack on Israel, Lahbib underscored the need for these measures to encompass the Revolutionary Guard.

She noted that the EU has yet to reach a consensus on the legal framework for adding the Revolutionary Guard to its list of designated terrorist entities.

In another development, Belgium's ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Roxane de Bilderling, called upon the Kinshasa government to lodge a complaint with the International Court of Justice against neighboring countries for encroaching upon Congolese borders and territories.

She affirmed Belgium's condemnation of border violations, killings, and other infractions perpetrated by Rwanda on Congolese soil.

Du Bilderling's call is based on information and reports from UN investigators indicating the presence of Rwandan forces on Congolese territory.

She proposed a diplomatic and political resolution to the security crisis in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
