Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Priveaux stated on Tuesday that Israel's actions in Lebanon are completely unacceptable, just hours before a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg.
Privaux added, as reported by France 24's English-language news service, that Israel's behavior is entirely unacceptable. He also noted that Hezbollah's attacks, which dragged Lebanon into an unwanted war, and Israel's disproportionate and indiscriminate response must also be strongly condemned.
Privaux indicated that Belgium is calling for at least a partial suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement, while acknowledging that Brussels recognizes a complete suspension may be unlikely given the differing positions of European countries.
