A tulip festival has been held in the Brest Region of Belarus, and there are plans to make it an annual event. This was announced by Mikhail Batsenko, Deputy Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, according to BelTA, a partner of TV BRICS.

The festival will take place during the peak of the tulip bloom in the agricultural village of Tyshkovichi in the Ivanovo District of the Brest Region, where a large-scale floral farm is located. It is planned to invite anyone wishing to admire the fragrant fields there on the last weekend of April. The park and central square of the town of Ivanovo may also serve as venues for the flower festival.

According to the Brest Regional Executive Committee, around 17,000 people have shown interest in tours of the tulip fields this spring. The festival is intended to stimulate the development of local agritourism.

"This is a new attraction. We will work to ensure that as many tourists as possible learn about this place. The festival is important as a way of promoting Polesie," noted Batsenko.

Over the last weekend of April this year, the flower festival on the farm in Tyshkovichi attracted a large number of visitors. They took part in tours of the tulip fields and attended an open-air concert. Representatives of the National School of Beauty organised a fashion show amidst the flowers.
