The Lebanese authorities announced today, Saturday, that more than 60 people are still missing after the powerful explosion that hit Beirut port on Tuesday.

In the same context, US President Donald Trump and his French counterpart, Manuel Macron, discussed in a phone call sending immediate aid to Lebanon.

Meanwhile, the US National Security Adviser said that his country will provide emergency and necessary aid to Lebanon after the Beirut Port explosion.

It is worth mentioning that, the explosion comes just two days before the international tribunal investigating the killing of former Prime Minister Rafik El-Hariri, in 2005, is set to announce its decision.

Lebanon’s Health Ministry announced on Thursday that the death toll from the massive explosion in the capital Beirut has climbed to 137, and at least 5,000 people have been wounded.

Many building facades and cars were damaged. The explosion left several people injured.

The cause of the blast is being investigated. But Lebanon’s prime minister, Hassan Diab, said the cause of the massive explosion was 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored in a warehouse for six years.
