Lebanon's Health Ministry announced on Thursday that the death toll from a massive explosion in the capital Beirut on Tuesday has climbed to 137, and at least 5,000 people have been wounded.
Moreover, the ministry clarified that there are many people missing until now.
It is worth mentioning that, the explosion comes just two days before the international tribunal investigating the killing of former Prime Minister Rafik El-Hariri, in 2005, is set to announce its decision.
The huge explosion was caused by a large blaze that erupted at a warehouse in Beirut Port, which contained firecrackers, according to primary information.
Many building facades and cars were damaged. The explosion left several people injured.
The cause of the blast is being investigated. But Lebanon's prime minister, Hassan Diab, said the cause of the massive explosion was 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored in a warehouse for six years.
World leaders offered support and condolences to the country, including Gulf nations in the region.
