Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are currently filming the movie "Being the Ricardos", which is written and directed by Aaron Sorkin.
Kidman is set to play Lucille Ball and Bardem will play Desi Arnaz. They were photographed in Los Angeles on the set in late March.
The cast includes J.K. Simmons as William Frawley, Nina Arianda as Vivian Vance, Tony Hale as Jess Oppenheimer, Alia Shawkat as Madelyn Pugh, Jake Lacy as Bob Carroll Jr.
It will also feature Clark Gregg, John Rubinstein, Linda Lavin, Robert Pine, and Christopher Denham.
Kidman’s casting came with some criticism from fans. The couple's daughter Lucie Arnaz, who will serve as an executive producer of the movie along with her brother Desi Arnaz, Jr., addressed these reactions in a Facebook video in January.
She noted that the production is not a remake of "I Love Lucy", but centers around the story of parents Lucille Ball and her husband, Desi Arnaz.
"Being the Ricardos" will follow the couple through a crisis that jeopardizes their career and relationship. It will also follow how they met and what went right with finding the show and what went wrong, their relationship, their love affair.
Ball and Arnaz married in 1940, just six months after meeting. "I Love Lucy", aired from 1951 to 1957, and the couple porced shortly after in 1960.
