The British Radio highlighted Egypt's efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza ahead of the month of Ramadan, and said that mediators and a Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo for talks, while reports indicated that Israel is demanding guarantees about the future of the hostages before attending.

An unidentified American official said that Israel had more or less accepted the agreement, but the Israeli media said that Hamas refuses to say whether any of the hostages are still alive, so Israel will not participate.

The United States said that a one-week ceasefire would see the release of more Israeli and Palestinian prisoners.

On the other hand, the Israeli occupation army began a military operation in Hamad Town, north of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, after besieging it with tanks and bombing its surroundings for several hours by air and land, in what became known as the fire belts.

The Israeli occupation army issued threats through loudspeakers carried by drones, to force the people of Hamad Town to leave it to allegedly “safe” areas, in Al-Mawasi and Deir Al-Balah, while its tanks were positioned on the hills opposite the residential buildings after erecting dirt barriers in the place.

The threat stated: “To all residents of the Hamad Town residential area, you are in a dangerous combat zone. The occupation army is operating in your residential area.”

Video clips on social media platforms showed dozens of Palestinians, most of them women and children, who gathered under their homes in preparation for displacement, and some of them packed their belongings onto cars and towed vehicles, while occupation tanks were advancing towards them, and from time to time the sound of shelling and gunfire was heard.
