Bassam Rady, the Egyptian Ambassador to Italy, discussed with Qu Dongyu, Director General of the World Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the global food crisis and its repercussions on the wave of high costs of living in the entire world, and the joint cooperation between Egypt and the FAO.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, on its official page on Facebook, that the Egyptian ambassador made it clear that the current stage requires the international community, more than ever before, to enhance joint cooperation to develop ways to confront food security challenges locally, regionally and globally.
During the meeting, Bassam Rady also affirmed Egypt's pride in its strategic partnership with FAO.
For his part, the Director-General of the FAO expressed his appreciation for the pivotal role played by Egypt within the framework of the organization's work, praising President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's interest in the food security, agricultural production and land reclamation, which is witnessing an unprecedented boom in Egypt.
