Barcelona announced on Saturday the signing of Egyptian left back Ali Zein to join the Blaugrana handball team from Emirates' Al Sharjaj.
The 30-year-old Egyptian player signed a one-year contract with an option for extending the contract for another year.
"He is the third new edition to Barça 2021/22 after Ángel Fernández and Leo Maciel. The international star played at the 2019 and 2021 World Championships, has experience of playing in his native Egypt (Al-Ahly), in Tunisia (Étoile Sportive du Sahel) and France (Pays D’Aix Université Club) and has spent the last three seasons in the UAE," Barcelona said in a statement.
"He adds depth to the left side of the court both in attack and defence, and has a powerful shot that is sure to produce plenty of goals for Barça. "
