Banque du Caire, one of the major banks in Egypt, has announced donating two devices to the Endoscopy Unit of Chest Diseases Department at Faculty of Medicine Kasr Al-Ainy (KAAH), Cairo University.
The first device is a speculum that removes tumors of the lung and improves the breathing functions of the patient.
The second device is an ultrasound speculum that helps diagnose many cases, including lung tumors, enlarged lymph nodes and other diseases of the chest.
The device also helps in determining the enduring of the lungs to remove tumors surgically.
Dr. Hala Salah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of (KAA), had received Tariq Fayed, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Banque du Caire, to hand over the two devices.
Heidi El Nahhas, Head of Communications Department and Sustainable Development in the bank attended the meeting.
Tariq Fayed said that the bank pays great attention to supporting (KAAH), within its belief in social role and effort to alleviate the suffering of the citizens.
The bank provides all necessary means to treat the citizens and expands the range of beneficiaries of the bank’s contributions to meet the different needs of the Egyptians.
The management of the bank believes that community development is a goal that all institutions should work together to achieve it.
Fayed added that the societal role of economic institutions must go hand in hand with the economic role that they play.
He pointed out that the cooperation between Banque du Caire and Kasr (KAAH) is multiple.
The bank donated last year an ultrasound device to the emergency unit of the hospital.
Banque du Caire is keen to direct its contributions for the benefit of various vital sectors in the country, foremost of which is the health sector.
The bank has developed and equipped a large number of university and government hospitals over the past years with medical devices in various governorates.
It supports medical research for hospitals, including the Children's Cancer Hospital – Egypt 57357.
It also participated in the campaign to eradicate the Hepatitis C virus.
Contributions Banque du Caire extended to support the health sector by donating to build Ahl Masr Hospital, leading to the restoration of the Oncology Institute, a donation to the Egyptian Liver Foundation for the second year in a row and Dr. Magdy Yacoub Foundation for Treatment of heart patients in Aswan.
The bank contributed to the completion of the third phase of Shefaa El- Orman Hospital in Luxor, donated to the Ministry of Health and Population, plan of eliminating waiting lists and donate to the Sick Bay in Luxor with the participation of Rotary Clubs in Egypt to serve people in Upper Egypt.
