The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) decided to suspend work in all banks on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023, provided that work will resume on Monday morning, Jan. 2.
CBE indicated that the end of the fiscal year for banks operating in Egypt on take place on December 31, 2022.
The Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) also announced the suspension of work next Sunday, corresponding to January 1, on the occasion of the beginning of the new year 2023.
The decision comes after the CBE announced the suspension of work in the banking sector on the new year.
