The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) decided to suspend all banks operating on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr Starting Sunday, May 24, until Thursday, May 28.
Banks will be given a five-day leave starting from Sunday to mark the feast, CBE announced on Tuesday. CBE added that banks will resume work on Sunday, May 31.
The Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) will also take an official leave for five consecutive days, starting Sunday, May 24 until May 31.
It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly had issued a decision regarding Eid al-Fitr holiday and the precautionary measures that will be taken to confront the coronavirus (COVID-19) during this period.
