Attia Hammad, Head of the Bakeries Division in the Chamber of Commerce in Cairo said that the intervention of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in the pricing of unsubsidized bread would control the selling price and limit the manipulation in the market.

Hammad continued, during a call-in with TV anchor Ahmed Moussa on Sada El-Balad TV: "I think that the weight of the unsubsidized loaf of bread will be 90 grams, like the subsidized one, and would cost around 75 piastres."

He added that this decision is to set compulsory specifications and pricing in accordance with the decision of the Minister of Supply, adding there is a meeting currently taking place between the Minister of Supply, the Mills Division and the Flour Division in the Chamber of Food Industries in this regard.

Today, President Sisi met with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, General Mohamed Zaki, Minister of Defense and Military Production, Ali El-Moselhy, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade to following up on the provision of strategic stocks of all basic food commodities, especially with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan.
