Bahraini King, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, received, on Wednesday, Al-Azhar Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, at Al-Sakhir Royal Palace.
This came on the occasion of his visit to Bahrain to participate in the "Islamic-Islamic Dialogue" conference, held under the theme "One Nation, One Shared Destiny."
At the outset of the meeting, Bahraini King welcomed Al-Azhar Grand Imam, expressing his appreciation for his participation in this significant Islamic conference.
He wished him success in achieving the conference's objectives, which serve the interests of the Islamic nation, strengthen solidarity, and foster unity in addressing current challenges.
Moreover, King Hamad praised the Grand Imam’s efforts in promoting tolerance, coexistence, and dialogue, as well as his dedication to fostering cooperation among peoples of different religions and cultures.
He also acknowledged the esteemed status of Al-Azhar in spreading the message of Islam, rooted in moderation, tolerance, and compassion.
For his part, Al-Azhar Grand Imam expressed his deep appreciation for Bahrain’s hosting of the "Islamic-Islamic Dialogue" conference and for the King’s efforts in serving the Islamic nation.
He also commended Bahrain’s role in promoting peace, coexistence, love, and cooperation among nations and different cultures.
