On Saturday, the Kingdom of Bahrain sent a letter to the United Nations Security Council and the United Nations (UN) denying Qatari allegations.

The Kingdom of Bahrain said that the Qatari false allegations that 4 Bahraini fighter jets infiltrated Qatari airspace last Wednesday are unfortunate and shameful and have nothing to do with the truth.

Bahrain's permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Jamal Faris Al-Ruwaie, confirmed in his message to both the President of the Security Council, ambassador Jerry Matthews Matjiela and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, that the false claims of Qatar are part of the continuous distortion practiced by Doha to destabilize security and stability in the region.

The letter said that Qatar's actions reveal a lack of credibility, contradiction and are inconsistent with the principles of good neighbourliness stipulated in international conventions and which the State of Qatar claims to adhere to.

The message, which was reported by the Bahrain News Agency, referred to the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain on December 24, which states that last Wednesday and during the implementation of a joint training flight of two F-16 aircraft belonging to the Royal Bahraini Air Force and other two aircraft of the same type belonging to the US Air Force in the designated training area in the airspace of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

The message indicated that the flights came as part of the joint air exercise between the Bahraini and the American weapons, and after the end of the time allotted for the sortie at 15:50 Bahrain time, the four planes merged into one formation and then headed to the airspace of the Kingdom of Bahrain, crossing the airspace of KSA towards the east to land in Eissa Air Force Base.

The message added that this route is considered the air corridor to exit the training area and enter the airspace of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and it did not lead the four aircraft to Qatari territory, stating that the Royal Bahraini Air Force is careful not to approach the borders of other countries.

The statement continued that "The State of Qatar should consider its provocative behavior, its support for terrorism, its financing and its interference in the internal affairs of neighboring countries, which forms a threat to international peace and security."

The letter also called on the UN to take the necessary measures to encourage the cessation of these hostile Qatari practices and to urge Qatar to respect the UN Charter as well as the rules of international law.

The Kingdom of Bahrain stressed that despite the false allegations and accusations that the State of Qatar openly raises to pert the attention of the international community from its regrettable behavior.

Bahrain, in its firm commitment to the United Nations Charter, will continue to strive to find peaceful solutions, following international conventions and norms and the principles of good neighborliness, to ensure the stability of the region.
