Moments ago, Reuters quoted Bahrain state news agency that the king of state told White House adviser Jared Kushner that stability in the Gulf region relies on Saudi Arabia.
State news agency BNA said that the monarch remarks came during a meeting between King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Kushner who landed this morning at the capital Al-Manama.
Kushner is visiting Gulf countries following an Aug. 13 agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel to normalise relations and has said he hopes more countries will also solidify ties with Israel.
Saudi Arabia, Bahrain’s close ally, has said its price for normalising relations with Israel is the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
